Another popular destination at the end of Marginal Way is Perkins Cove, a quaint working harbor that has been home to artists from around the world for nearly 100 years. “My husband, myself and two kids (ages 3 and 5) stayed 2 weekend nights at the Mariner in July. We found the rate to be reasonable ($145/night) and the motel to be in excellent refurbished condition. Very clean, all new paint in and out, new carpeting, brand new fridge/freezer and microwave in room. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great pools (in and out) with new patio furniture and hot tub for the adults. Grounds are immaculate, beautiful gardens with views of the river/marsh and ocean in distance. A great find north of Ogunquit Center right on the trolley line.
An easy ride to the beaches. We discovered Footbridge Beach and it was beautiful. Pay parking lot, public bathrooms, snack bar. Soft sand, tons of beach at low tide, no rocks or seaweed. Water is cold but that's to be expected in Maine!
We will definitely return to the Mariner!”
